          7. 2 1/4 c. (450 g.) granulated sugar, divided, plus more for dusting (optional)
          8. 3 large eggs, room temperature
          9. 2 tsp. pure vanilla extract
          10. 1 c. buttermilk, room temperature
          11. 3 c. fresh blueberries, divided
          12. Powdered sugar, for serving 

            Instructions:

            1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and grease a 9-inch (23cm) cake pan.
            2. In a mixing bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
            3. Beat in eggs, lemon zest, and vanilla extract.
            4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
            5. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, alternating with milk.
