Great alternative

These are a great alternative to a regular plastic or paper straw. I like the fact that they bend which works as well as a plastic bendy straw. These are fine for normal drinks but I wouldn’t recommend using them for drinks where the straw will be in the liquid for a while, like a smoothie or slushy. Like a paper straw, they do eventually become soft. Definitely a great alternative.

Best non-plastic straw I've found

My kids love using straws, but I've become hesitant about buying them because of the environmental impact. So I've been trying other environmentally friendly straws, most of which are plastic. But these are made from bamboo and I feel that makes a huge difference. Texturally they're still more like paper straws than plastic bc they don't have the smoothness of plastic, but they hold up well and don't start getting 'soggy' as soon as most paper versions i've tried. I'll definitely purchase these in the future.

Don’t disintegrate

These are better than some of the other paper straws I’ve used. I left my straw in my water overnight and the next day it wasn’t soggy or disintegrated. But these straws are so tiny that it’s hard to suck up thicker liquids, like a protein drink. I didn’t even really like drinking my iced coffee with them. I will use them up over time, but probably won’t repurchase due to my own preference. If you are very eco conscious and prefer natural straws, give these a try, but be mindful you won’t be able to drink a smoothie or milkshake with these.

Functional straws for hot and cold!

At $12.99 for a pack of 200 individual straws, this is a fairly affordable alternative to plastic disposable straws. They hold up surprisingly well to hot liquids; yes, they eventually get soft and soggy, but I've had paper straws wilt in 15 minutes in a cold drink, and these held up in hot tea for over half an hour, so I think they're very serviceable. The bendy portion works about as well as a non-plastic accordion can work; the articulation is limited but passable.
