Dental Floss | Charcoal Woven Thread, Mint Flavor, Bamboo Holder

Been using boonboo floss for awhile, but always used the the reusable glass vial dispenser with refills. Unfortunately due to clumsiness the vial shattered and we had to find a new dispenser for all of our refills. We stumbled upon this bamboo dispenser and we no longer have to worry about shattered glass. The 2 halves are held together by strong magnets. Easy to handle and the refills.

This is a cute little floss holder, and I think I would like using it in a guest bathroom since it has a more elevated appearance than standard floss. I appreciate that it is more eco friendly than traditional floss packaging thay uses a lot of plastic. Unfortunately the floss itself isn’t my favorite. I like the mint flavor, but I find that it unravels a bit as I floss my teeth. It’s still fine, and perfectly usable, but for that reason, it’s not my favorite. As sections start to unravel, it becomes a bit more difficult to use. I like it enough that I will certainly continue to use what I have, and there seems to be quite a bit in the container, but I do not know if I will reorder.

My biggest issue is with this charcoal woven floss is that it is not very durable. Upon my use of this product, the floss actually snapped during normal use. Given that this product is coated with wax and has a fairly decent sized woven thread along it advertised being stronger than silk floss, I was very surprised it broke in half during my initial use. I do really want to like this product given it's eco-friendly, biodegradable and compostable packaging; however, it just does not work for me for my use case. Unfortunately, I guess I need revert back to my trusty micro-textured fiber floss.

I like the sustainability approach of this product. Bamboo fiber floss in a refillable case. Sounds great!The floss itself is a little rough, though. It snags and cuts me about every 3rd time I floss with it. I'll use the spool up, but probably won't buy a refill unless they make it a bit smoother.

I've been looking into greener, sustainable options for floss since I learned that most floss on the market is made from nylon and can take 80+ years to break down.I've enjoyed using the BOONBOO floss so far. It has a pleasant minty flavor that is mild. My only complaint is the case: I wish it had a stronger magnet. I travel often for work and find that even the slightest nudge can open the case and expose the inner floss. I've wrapped a hair tie around it to prevent this but would appreciate it if the magnets were stronger to prevent this issue from happening.
