Achieve vibrant, defined curls with SheaMoisture’s Coconut and Hibiscus Curling Gel. Specially formulated for thick, curly hair, this gel provides the nourishment needed to enhance your natural texture while controlling frizz.

  • Enhanced Curl Definition: Promotes healthy, bouncy curls with shine.
  • Natural Ingredients: Crafted with organic Shea Butter for hydration.
  • Frizz Control: Coconut Oil helps maintain moisture and reduce frizz.
  • Versatile Application: Ideal for wet hair to maximize control and style.
  • Suitable for All Textures: Perfect for tight coils, kinks, and twist-outs.
  • Eco-Friendly: Made with sustainable ingredients for guilt-free styling.

  1. Start with Clean Hair: Wash your hair with a sulfate-free shampoo to remove any buildup and prepare your curls for styling.
  2. Apply Leave-In Conditioner: After washing, apply a leave-in conditioner to damp hair to provide extra moisture and detangle.
  3. Section Your Hair: Divide your hair into manageable sections to ensure even application of the curling gel.
  4. Use the Curling Gel: Take a small amount of the curling gel and rub it between your palms. Apply it evenly to each section of hair, scrunching as you go to enhance curl definition.
  5. Style as Desired: You can either let your hair air dry or use a diffuser on a low heat setting to speed up the drying process while maintaining curl integrity.
  6. Avoid Touching: Once your hair is dry, avoid touching your curls to prevent frizz and maintain definition.
  7. Finish with Oil: For added shine and moisture, apply a light oil to your curls after they are completely dry.

Too heavy for certain hair types

I left a photo of my natural hair. This gel weighed it down greatly and made it look oily and it felt kind of gross. My good friend with tighter curls loves it. Just wasn’t for me

works for slick backs too

the texture is strange and it doesn't really help my 3b hair but it works rly well for slick backs and the smell is ok but very strong

Great for curly hair

I have long, thick, curly hair and like to use this gel after I shower to help hold my curls and keep them from getting frizzy.

Gets and stays very crunchy if you use too much, BUT

The first few times I tried this I ended up with very crunchy wet-looking hair that I could not scrunch the crunch out of. Sometimes I'd crunch the hell out of it just to find it had re-crunchified a while later. The fix, I discovered, is to apply it very sparingly, and to wet my hands before picking up a glob of it and rub them together with this product to wet it down before applying to hair, sparingly. Done right, it doesn't get crunchy and gives me ~5 days of reasonable hold.I have naturally porous 3B curls, I do curly girl per the r/curlyhair wiki, and I apply the following stack of products in order to clean and conditoned hair while still wet:1.) Kinky Curly Knot Today leave-in2.) Argan oil3.) SheaMoisture Coconut & Hibiscus Curl Enhancing Smoothie4.) SheaMoisture Curling Gel Souffle
