We use a dish brush with this soap and it takes such a tiny amount of it to clean the dishes. A quick tap on the soap bar and there are suds for days. We tip the container over to drain when it's not being used, and that seems to keep it dry even though we wash dishes very frequently (no dishwasher).

I have been trying to switch my dishwashing liquid to a dishwashing bar, but I've had unsatisfactory results with the dish soap bars I've tried.Until now! Firstly, I adore this little ceramic container with a bamboo lid, which looks lovely on my kitchen counter; much better than a giant plastic container of commercial blue liquid dish soap, like I used to have.In fact, the white ceramic and bamboo lid fit my kitchen's aesthetic perfectly!Now on to how this performs... I don't know how to describe it, except to say that it's perfect!I've washed wine glasses, glass baking pans, metal pots and pans, kitchen knives, etc. and I haven't seen any streaking under any circumstance.I've used it to wash a whole sink full of dishes and soapy water, with only a limited amount of rinse water in the other sink to conserve water usage; and I've used it separately to quickly wash three wine glasses using just a soapy rag and a quick rinse. Both methods worked beautifully, with no spotting, streaking or filmy feeling afterwards.I just rub a wet dishcloth over the top of the soap a few times to begin with, and squeeze to get a few bubbles worked up, then start washing. In the sink of soapy dishwater, I poured the liquid in the ceramic dish directly into the wash water, and in the quick wash I just poured the liquid onto my dishcloth. And again, both methods were flawless!I don't know how long this soap will last, but I'll definitely be buying Nellie's refill when I am ready to refill this container!
